Enjoyed reading this. You’re so right about the pandemic/fresh air effect. Getting back out there—and in sunlight, if one can—is such a game changer. My comfort item would be bubble bath. For books, what about Goodwill or any type of local thrift store? You can score some for cheap, then donate the read ones when you go to buy more. I always bring way more makeup then I need when I travel but I found a Charlotte Tilbury full face palette I really like so now I just bring that, tinted moisturizer, and mascara. (Which still sounds like a lot now that I’m writing it out, haha.)

Oooh bubble bath sounds nice.

I've never owned a full palette! Might be easier than a random assortment of eyeshadows that I think are all different colors until I realize they're all just varying shades of the same thing. But at some point in the pandemic, I read a thing about how often you're supposed to clear out your makeup and threw out almost everything because it was super old and I wasn't using it anyway. So I've got, I think, an eyeliner, a mascara, a tinted moisturizer, 2 eyeshadows (of similar colors), and 5 lipsticks, because lipstick has been my only Zoom-makeup option for the past two and a half years, and I love how much more put together I look even when it's the ONLY thing I put on.
